Concept – Enchanted Forest

Actual Condition: At the beginning of the hall you can see magic masks and statues of mythical creatures. When you walk through it a curtain appears. Behind the curtain a glass wall with a dark forest can be seen. Some parts are lightened but you can even touch or explore the forest.

Target Group

Parents with their little children.

Why is it important?

At the moment they actually have no real experience when they walk into the enchanted forest. When they visit a museum, children should learn something and that‘s easier by interacting with the story.

What learning experience should the target group get?

They should learn something on the history of mythical creatures. They should get awa- re of what happened in the past with these creatures (burning witches) and where the stories come from. They should get a knowledge on what part of the stories is real and what is just a fairytale.

Outworking idea

You can go through the forest and it should be an interactive experience. At the begin- ning it looks like a normal forest however how deeper you go into it it becomes more un- real. We want to use projections which get triggered by your movement. (Example: When you look into the water a mythical creature appears instead of your reflexion)

There are living environments on different creatures. It depends on the area where you are. For example on a mountain a krampus appears and you can achieve information on this creature.

Employer

Fictional employer is the museum „Haus der Natur“ in Salzburg.
