A few days ago I’ve found an interesting website on the importance of packaging design. There are some diagrams on our buying decisions. We buy emotional, spontaneous and again and again. That means that the packaging is the last touchpoint between the label and the consumer and we are really influenceable by the looking of a product. I think they are totally true! When I am in a supermarket I often buy things just because of their package. However there is a really good new invention: the unpacked supermarket. They are really good for the environment because you don’t have plastic and stuff like that. It works like this: You bring your own box in the supermarket and put the products into it. Like this you just buy what you really want and need because you don’t get influenced by the looking of a product and you don’t have that packaging waste. There are just a few in the world like in Vienna or Berlin. I hope that we will have one in Salzburg soon.
