- Content Prioritization – give a priority to the features and content users are most likely to need
- Vertical Instead of Horizontal Navigation
- Bars, Tabs and Hypertext – less hypertext on mobile pages -> Links appear in the form of bars, tabs and buttons
- Text and Graphics – remove promotional or marketing graphics in mobile sites because of the small screen sizes
- Contextual and Global Navigation – reduction of global and contextual navigation
- Footers – employ footers that provide access to content users often look for on a home page but no footers containing quick links
- Breadcrumbs – not in mobile sites
- Progress Indicator – guides you through the process (at a registration etc), don’t appear on mobile sites
- Integration with Phone Functions – direct calling and text messaging
- Localized & Personalized Search – local search results because mobile devices can automatically detect where users are
The most reason for these differences is the less of space. However it is a new area in Webdesign due to the fact that mobile sites are getting more and more popular.
